Over 70 people attended the Agriculture Forum at VIC Parliament Organized by Australia International Trade Association

Agriculture Forum and Luncheon -- Hainan provincial delegation as guest of honor at VIC Parliament House was successfully held on 19th June 2017.

At the forum, Hainan delegation (40people made of governments officials and entrepreneurs) met with over 33 Australian representatives from Austrade, Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources, The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria, Victoria Farmers Federation, Invest Victoria, Australian Institute of Food Science&Tech, Ausveg, Wyndham City Council and City of Monash and many local companies.

Among the associations, AIFST is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year (AIFST 50th Anniversary Convention in Sydney: the Future of Food 17-18 July 2017), and is proud of its mission to advance Australia’s position as a sustainable, world-leading food industry. Juraj Durco attended the forum on behalf of AIFST. He sits on a number of the AIFST steering committees including National Innovation & Product Development and the Victorian branch. The Australian food and agribusiness sector is a world leader in the provision of high quality food and ingredients. AIFST utilizes innovation technologies with stringent, rigorous quality assurance processes. The Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology represents thousands of food industry professionals working in all facets of the industry including food science, food technology, engineering, sensory, new product development, innovation, regulatory, QA, nutrition, microbiology and can’t forget the so important food safety.  

At the networking session between the forum and lunch, companies of Hainan delegation had a really productive talk with Australia Associations and companies. For example, Hainan Nanguo Foodstuff Industry Co., Ltd, the biggest company in this delegation, expressed strong interest to AIFST as both of them agrees on the importance of innovation and efficiency. As Juraj Durco said, “I always supports the need for Innovation and less important is not to forget about productivity, efficiency and how they can commercialize the product, change or technology to the market faster and stay market competitive.” Both of them are looking forward to future cooperation possibilities.
