China's actuary exam results to be recognized by UK

BEIJING, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Exam results of the China Association of Actuaries (CAA) will be recognized by the UK's Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, said a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by both parties here on Thursday.

Those who have acquired a CAA associate actuary certificate will be recognized as having taken basic skill tests from CT1 to CT8 required by the UK's institute, according to the MOU.

Those who have received the associate actuary certificate from the UK's institute will be recognized by the CAA as having taken all courses required by the CAA.

Wei Yingning, head of the CAA, said the recognition by the UK was a giant step forward for China's actuary exams, and it could help the country's actuaries become globally recognized.
