Tim Lu is the KPMG National Director

Tim has 15 years experience in advising Australian and Chinese clients in bilateral trade and investment issues between Australia and China. 

Trained as chemical engineer, he spent 4 years working for both Chinese government and Chinese SOE; then worked in UK under a scholarship sponsored by British Council and Confederation of British Industry (CBI).

He joined Austrade (Australian Trade Commission) afterwards; where he looked after a wide spectrum of industries, especially energy and resources, engineering and project management, infrastructure and general industries; he advised the first substantial technology export from Australia to China, Thales ATM’s $200 mil air traffic control system covering whole China territories.

During 2002-2006, he was seconded to Chevron Inc as LNG Marketing Manager, he advised the first Australian LNG export to China (A$25 bil), and was directly involved in the Gorgon LNG sales to China market.

He joined KPMG Australia in late 2006; in his role at KPMG, Tim has advised many Australian and Chinese clients; he advised the A$1 billion cross-border property fund (REIT) and A$2 billion cross-border resources and fund.

Tim obtained his graduate accounting diploma in Australia, engineering bachelor and graduate industry economics diploma in China.
